Every recipe in this category started the same way: I needed something that would actually keep me full past 2pm. Grain bowls are great, but if there’s no real protein in them, I’m digging through the fridge an hour later looking for a snack.
These high protein bowl recipes are built around that problem. Each one uses a protein like chicken, steak, salmon, shrimp, turkey, beef, or eggs, paired with a good carb (usually quinoa or rice) and enough vegetables to make the whole thing feel like a real meal instead of a diet plan.
I usually make a big batch of one protein on Sunday and split it across three or four bowls for the week. That’s the whole trick to these protein bowl recipes staying easy: cook the protein once, then mix and match the rest depending on what’s in the fridge.
You’ll find both quick versions for busy weeknights and slower ones worth making on a weekend when I have more time. If you’re new here, start with whichever protein you already have thawed. That’s usually how I decide too.
